Divine StoriesDiagnosed Hodgkin Lymphoma StoryDanna lives in Las Vegas, NV. She is a dear friend of Yvonne Gaston. Her nine year old son, Joshua, was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. When my son Joshua was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma I was over come with shock. The diagnosis reality was too big to grasp. In one of many conversations with God trying to come to terms with reality He brought to my mind the Garden, the rock where He wept and asked if the cup of His destiny could pass from Him. He knew the answer but He asked. I said, "Lord, I'm not sure I would ask that, even for my son." The Lord had impressed upon me that this was already decided. It's a tool the Lord is using to mold and shape all of us into who we are supposed to be, and make Joshua the man of God He has intended for him. Who am I to question God's design for Joshua? During his Hodgkin Lymphoma illness the Lord has not allowed me to ask why. It's as if He put His finger across my lips when the thought tries to form in my mind. At first I was quiet out of obedience, then I realized I was silent out of trust. He is sovereign and I already know why - ALL things are for the good and His glory. Not for our comfort, wealth or pride, but for our good. Being diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma is not the end. We are actually doing ok. Chemo treatments have started and Joshua's body is responding well. We are forever changed as a family and as individuals. He is always changing us into His image; always teaching and maturing us; always carrying us with His everlasting arms. To God be the glory forever! This Diagnosed Hodgkin Lymphoma story |
