Looking Forward

Another year has passed for me,
Its trials and its trimphs all behind.
So many memories were made.
To mingle with the others in my mind.

Of friends so faithful thru the years.
My precious loved ones ever close beside;
The children and the babes in arms,
Who carry on my name with pride.

Of springtime's budding of the trees,
And summer's bright array of flow'rs.
Then autumn leaves that fell so soon,
And winter's hearth to cheer the hours.

Yes, another year has passed for me,
Whatever was its bounty or its lack.
I now await God's next command,
For I am looking forward and not back.
