Divine Intervention StoryLove and ForgiveHere is my diving intervention story, love and forgive. When I was eight or nine years old, my mom divorced my dad. I never saw him until just the past few years. He is a quiet man; we write each other around Christmas time. My mother remarried. Growing up with my stepfather was difficult. I am choosing to remember the positive influences he had on my life. For example, he emphasized the importance of always working hard, and to do my best in whatever I did. He taught me responsibility, proper manners, and to be respectful of elders. As I got older, there was a period of time we didn't speak to each other. I had been hurt and could not forgive. However, after I became a Christian, I forgave him and loved him. I couldn't understand how easy it was. I could love and forgive with divine help from God. I know it was all because of the Lord. Romans 5:5 says, God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love. I thank the Lord, because I could not do it without His divine help. Over time, God healed my relationship with my Step-dad and we enjoyed our friendship and love for a long time. Later, he moved to Florida, and we kept in touch by phone and correspondence. After a little while, I noticed that it had been quite a long time since he had returned any of my phone calls or letters. He was on my heart one day, and I asked God if I should contact him again. About two days latter, I received a letter from him. Although I was happy to see his letter in the mail, something in my heart did not feel right. After reading his letter, my heart was broken. He condemned me for going to church, for putting my kids into Christian school, and much more. I only feel love for him and forgive him. He didn't want to have anything more to do with me or my faith. I carefully wrote him back, telling him about God's love. The letter was returned. It looked like it may have been opened, but I don't know for sure. Please pray for my Step-dad who needs the Lord so much. It's only because of Jesus, I still can even now love and forgive him. This is a wonderful promise from our divine God.  16:33 says,"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrow.
